What’s Not to Love About Organizing Wine?
1 – It’s Fun!
Wine organizing gives us an opportunity to build relationships with our clients and learn something new every day. It’s the best job in the world. We get to hear about gorgeous terrains, rolling vineyards, fantastic travels around the world, and lots of interesting, behind-the-scenes stories about winemakers and locales as an added bonus.
2 – It’s part art and part science
As much as we enjoy making wine cellars beautiful, orderly, and a space our clients love, that’s only a small part of our job. Our broader mission is to make cellar contents visible and searchable from a phone, tablet, laptop, or any device you choose to use – whether you have 50 bottles or 5,000 bottles. We love digging into collections of any size to sort, track, and logically organize for quick access. When we’re done, collectors can easily see every detail about their cellar – current contents by variety, vintage, producer, bottle size, location, region, etc., pending deliveries, individual bottle and category values, overall cellar value, optimal drinkability windows, community and personal tasting notes and scores, the disposition of any wine that was removed from the cellar, and so much more!
3 – It’s in our wheelhouse
We are process-oriented and teachers at heart, so being able to implement a simple tracking system for our clients and teach them to use it makes us happy. Don’t we all love to do what we do best? Sorting, tracking, reporting, and styling tap into our creative and logical selves and allow us to do what we do best to help others.
4 – It makes our clients happy!
Seeing the smiles on our clients’ faces when they walk into a re-engineered and organized wine cellar is the BEST feeling! It’s very freeing to have order in our lives, and an organized wine cellar is a beautiful thing. We often find wines a client didn’t know or forgot they had, and that brings them great joy along with a flood of good memories. Good wine is made to share and enjoy with friends and family. Knowing what you have can now be an integral part of your menu planning and gift-giving processes.
5 -It adds value
Knowing what you have in your cellar, where it is, and what it’s worth is invaluable – not only for insurance purposes, but for tax reasons as well. Often our clients chose to donate wine to charitable events or give part of their collection to others. Having your collection and its contents and value documented can serve as a simple way to keep tax records accurate and make giving the gift of wine easy and fun.
We’d love to help you organize your wine collection!
